How Hi-Mupro Moisturizing Oral Balance Gel Supports Bedside Dry-Mouth Care
A healthy mouth maintains moisture through the Salivary Conditioning Film (SCF)*, a protective biofilm that retains water. When salivation is low, SCF weakens, leading to discomfort and dryness.
Most saliva substitutes fail to bond with SCF, providing only temporary relief. However, Hi-MUPRO Moisturizing Oral Balance Gel, formulated with carbomer and carboxymethylcellulose, effectively adheres to SCF*. Through cross-linking technology, it has high water content enhancing moisture retention for up to 4 hours and reduce water evaporation.
Hi-MUPRO Moisturizing Oral Balance Gel is designed for caregiver-assisted application, the gel adheres to the oral mucosa to provide sustained moisture when rinsing, drinking, or frequent reapplication is not feasible.
*The Salivary Conditioning Film (SCF) in the human oral cavity is one of the biofilms in the human oral cavity that can withstand contact pressure. It has strong water retention and contains mucin and protein to lubricate the mouth.
